In the early hours of July 30, 2024, the serene villages of Punjirimattom, Mundakkai, Chooralmala, Attamala, Meppadi, and Kunhome in Wayanad, Kerala, were struck by catastrophic landslides. Torrential rains caused massive hillsides to collapse, leading to the loss of over 417 lives, many injuries, and countless families left in turmoil. This disaster is among the deadliest in Kerala’s history, and the community is facing an overwhelming challenge in its aftermath.
